"A coordination meeting to support the role of academic advising at the College of Pharmacy for the new academic year"
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Manal Eid, Dean of the College, and Professor Dr. Jenny Gihan Nasr, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, a meeting was held with Professor Dr. Nashwa Abu El-Saad, Director of the Academic Advising Unit, and the faculty members serving as academic advisors, in preparation for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The meeting emphasized the role of academic advising in monitoring students and providing them with the necessary support. It also discussed mechanisms for facilitating communication between advisors and students and ensuring the removal of any obstacles they may encounter during their studies.
The importance of adhering to the regulations governing the academic advising process was also stressed, as this contributes to improving students' academic performance and fulfilling the college's mission of serving the academic community.
The meeting also reviewed the duties of the academic advisor and the importance of their role in monitoring students' academic progress, assisting them in selecting courses according to the established regulations, and providing psychological and academic support that contributes to creating an effective learning environment.
The attendees also discussed mechanisms for activating academic advising more effectively by enhancing communication channels between students and advisors through the college's official electronic platforms, in addition to monitoring students with poor performance and developing plans to improve their level.
