The Academy of Scientific Research announces distinguished grants and awards for the year 2022

  • Nile Awards:

    There are two awards: a science award and an advanced technological science award.

    The value of each award is five hundred thousand pounds and a gold medal.

    It is not permissible to divide the award.. Nor may it be granted to one person more than once.

     State Appreciation Awards:

    There are ten awards: five in sciences in the fields of basic, agricultural, medical and engineering sciences, and five in advanced technological sciences that serve the fields of basic sciences, agricultural fields, medical fields, and engineering fields.

    The value of each award is two hundred thousand pounds and a gold medal.

    The prize may not be divided, nor may it be awarded to one person more than once.

    Conditions of Nomination for the Nile Awards and State Prizes:

    It is required to apply for the Nile Awards and the State Appreciation Awards:

    The applicant must be nominated by universities (governmental, private or private), research centers and institutes, and specialized scientific societies, so that the entity is engaged in science or advanced technological sciences.

    That he has works or research previously published or implemented.. That this production has a scientific value in which the accuracy of research and innovation appears.. That he adds something new to the sciences that will benefit the country in particular and humanity in general.. That he has contributed to solving a national problem(s), or that He shall have completed a distinguished applied project that has social, economic and developmental returns.

    With regard to the Nile Awards, the bodies stipulated in this article have the right to submit one candidate for each award, bearing in mind that the candidate who received the State Appreciation Award has been granted it for at least five years prior to his candidacy for the Nile Prize.

    With regard to the discretionary state awards, the bodies stipulated in this article have the right to submit one candidate in the sciences and one candidate in the advanced technological sciences in each of the fields, bearing in mind that the candidate who won the state award for excellence must have already been granted it. At least five years prior to being nominated for the State Appreciation Award.

     State Awards for Excellence:

    There are seven awards: one in each of: basic, agricultural, medical, and engineering sciences, and three awards in advanced technological sciences.

    The value of each award is 100,000 Egyptian pounds and a silver medal.

    The award may not be divided, nor may it be granted to one person in the same branch more than once.

    The right to nominate for state prizes for excellence is for the entities stipulated in the previous clause of this article, and individuals have the right to apply directly for this award.

    The applicant is required to:

    He must have practiced scientific research or its applications for at least fifteen years.

    The submitted research should not have previously been awarded one of the incentive awards.

    It is not permissible to apply for these awards and state incentive awards in the same year.

    - In the event that he previously received one of the State Incentive Awards, he must have been granted it for at least five years before he was nominated for the State Award for Excellence.

    The following shall be taken into account in the scientific production submitted:

    The scientific production should be from research or works that have been previously published or implemented during the last five years preceding the announcement.

    - That this production have a scientific value that attests to its originality and ability to innovate, or that the applied work has a distinct feasibility, or that it has completed a distinct work or practical works with the submission of evidence of its publication or application during that period.

    Submit a list of the best published research productions (with a maximum of ten research papers) explaining:

    The title of the research - the name of the journal - the date of publication for the first time - the names of the participants in the research - the share of the applicant in it.

    His scientific production must not have been previously submitted for the same award or any other award from the Academy, unless it includes a new addition.

    - The scientific production should not include productions for which the applicant previously obtained a degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) or obtained another award from the Academy.

    The applicant should not have incurred any disciplinary penalties.

    State Incentive Awards:

    There are forty prizes distributed as follows:

    Eleven prizes in the field of basic sciences, with three prizes for basic sciences in the fields of mathematics, physics and geology, three prizes for chemical sciences, three prizes for biological sciences, and two prizes for advanced technological sciences that serve the fields of basic sciences.

    Ten awards in the field of agricultural sciences, as eight awards are allocated in various branches of agricultural sciences and two awards in advanced technological sciences that serve the agricultural fields.

    Nine awards in the fields of medical sciences, including seven awards in various branches of medical sciences and two awards for advanced technological sciences that serve the medical fields.

    Ten awards in the fields of engineering sciences, including eight awards in various branches of engineering sciences and two awards in advanced technological sciences that serve engineering fields.

    The value of each prize is fifty thousand pounds.

    It may not be awarded more than once to one person until five years have passed since the award was granted for the first time.

    No one person may be awarded the award more than twice in one branch or subject.

    The right to apply for these prizes is limited to individuals.

    To apply for the award, the following is required:

    1. That the scientific production submitted for obtaining this award should be of scientific value, showing the accuracy and originality of the research, and adding to science something new that will benefit humanity and the country in particular.
    2. The list of submitted research should include: (a maximum of five research papers)

    The title of the research - the name of the journal - the date of publication for the first time - the names of the participants in the research - the share of the applicant in it.

    1. That the scientific production has been previously published or implemented and no more than three years have passed since the announcement, with the submission of evidence of publication during that period.
    2. He must not have previously submitted his scientific production for the same award or any other award from the Academy, unless it includes a new addition.
    3. The scientific production should not include a production for which the applicant previously obtained a degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) or under which he received another award from the Academy.
    4. The applicant shall not have incurred any disciplinary penalties.

    Secondly, other prizes

    These are the awards that the Academy Council approves of their establishment (and the right to apply for them is limited to individuals) in various fields of science so that the value of the award is not less than ten thousand pounds.
